Cavity

Cavities, also known as cavities and caries, are a common problem in children and adults. Although cavities could be just a cosmetic blemish to some, they can also cause extreme pain to the sufferer. Cavity formation is mainly caused by certain types of cavity-causing bacteria that live in your mouth producing acids that erode tooth enamel. As the enamel weakens due to erosion, cavities start forming on areas with high carbohydrate concentration such as near the surface cavities in teeth.

To avoid cavities people should practice good oral hygiene including brushing their teeth at least twice a day with fluoride toothpaste, flossing regularly between meals or after every meal if possible drinking plenty of water throughout the day and avoiding food with a high carbohydrate content. If cavities have already formed there are several cavities treatment options that can be easily accessed from dentist offices or marketplaces.
