Single Tooth Implants

Single tooth implants (also known as single-tooth replacements) replace one missing tooth with an artificial root and crown implant made of titanium. It is implanted as part of a two-stage process: First, the implant post is placed into your jawbone. Second, once the jawbone has healed around the implant, the abutment and crown components are added. Depending on several factors such as jawbone thickness and condition, health and dental history and more, you may require oral surgery in addition to routine procedures such as impressions and digital scans before treatment begins. Because implants are titanium posts designed to fuse with your jawbone, they need time to bond before abutment and crown components can be added. You will be fitted for a temporary replacement tooth at the end of the first stage of treatment. This type of restoration usually lasts about three months until it is naturally replaced by an implant-supported abutment and crown, which takes another one to two months to prepare before final placement.
