Occlusal

Occlusal refers to the parts of a person’s teeth that are used for chewing. Even though people have two sets of teeth in their mouths, only the upper and lower front teeth come into contact with each other when a person chews food.

The term may also be applied to problems involving pain or malformation of the occlusion, which is how the front teeth come together.
