Anesthesia

Anesthesia

Anesthesia (or anaesthesia) is the loss of sensation induced by the administration of either local or general anesthetics. It can be a systematic cause of a temporary medical condition that is brought about by the patient’s inability to sense pain and other stimuli, as during surgery and dental procedures. As a result, anesthesia allows patients to undergo surgery and other procedures without the distress and pain they would otherwise experience.
